The formaldehyde released by the furniture can seriously threaten the physical health of the clients. The content of released formaldehyde can decide to what extent the human health can be affected. In fact, there are various factors which can affect the content of formaldehyde released by the furniture. Take the artificial board as an example. The content of formaldehyde released by artificial board can be affected by the factors including the quality of materials, the quality of glue water, hot-pressing conditions and post processing. Generally speaking, five factors can affect the content of formaldehyde released by the general furniture. These factors include decorative ways, loading rate, diffusion paths, environmental conditions and curing time.

The ways to decorate the surface of the furniture play an important role in sealing off formaldehyde. During the processing, the furniture should be decorated with reasonable adhesives and decorative materials which can release the low content of formaldehyde so as to prevent the higher content of formaldehyde released by the various materials.

Loading rate refers to the rate between the superficial area of furniture exposed in the air and the indoor dimension. The higher loading rate means the denser formaldehyde. Therefore, people should reduce the articles of furniture so as to decrease the content of formaldehyde released by the furniture.

The influential action of diffusion paths can also not be ignored. When the manufacturers design the furniture, they should make use of thin plates under the premise of normal strength and structure.

The environmental conditions greatly affect the diffusion of formaldehyde. For example, the temperature, the humidity and the ventilation all affect the diffusion of formaldehyde. If the indoor temperature can increase 8 degrees centigrade in normal climatic conditions, the density of formaldehyde in the air can be doubled. Therefore, it is necessary for people to adjust the indoor temperature and humidity by opening an air-conditioner so as to control the diffusion of formaldehyde moderately.

The longer curing time of the furniture can release the denser formaldehyde. Therefore, people should put the furniture in high temperature for some time so as to accelerate the diffusion of formaldehyde and reduce the pollution in the later use.

The five factors mentioned above can affect the content of formaldehyde released by the furniture. People should make full use of various skills to reduce the pollution caused by the released formaldehyde so as to maintain the physical health to the full extent.
